PROVISION OF MILLING SERVICES

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. Each year, on average, WFP provides assistance to more than 90 million people and it is present in 81 countries, and in Nigeria alone, currently, WFP is scaling up its operations to reach 1.7 million people every month.

BACKGROUND
As part of its humanitarian assistance activities in Nigeria and the region, the United Nations World Food Progammes (WFP) hereby seeks all reputable and licensed wheat grain millers in Nigeria (with milling facilities situated in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kano) to provide WFP with millings services.

SCOPE OF WORK
1. Milling and fortifying the allocated quantities of wheat grain in accordance with WFP specifications.
2. Providing the required micronutrient that is a minimum of 250g micronutrient premix per ton of wheat flour.
3. Supplying and printing empty bags with markings as per WFP specification.
4. Purchasing of the produced bran.
5. Provide dedicated temporary storage for the milled wheat flour.

ENQUIRIES
Interested milling companies should request for questionnaire by writing the email – [email protected] with the mall subject “Milling services for wheat grain” not later than 30 May 2024.
Please note that this announcement applies to all interested services providers including those services providers that are currently working for WFP as a means of updating their profile.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
1. Please note that this is not a contract nor an invitation to tender. Rates/prices are not required at this stage, and this invitation does not bind the World Food Programme to issue any tender or contracts to the companies expressing their interest.
2. Shortlisting of companies does not bind WFP to offer a service award at any time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION
1. Legal business registration with relevant authorities (corporate affairs commission).
2. Audited financial statement for the last three (3 years)
3. Valid tax clearance certificate (TCC).

SUBMISSION OF EOI:
Submission must specify the milling company’s location, and must be accompanied by the following documents;
1. Cover letter/company profile including contact details
2. Proof of registration of the company – valid business license, TAX registration (if applicable) issued by relevant government authority.

The completed questionnaire should be signed, stamped and returned by email to [email protected] not later than 5:00 pm on 5th June 2024 with the subject “WFP-SC-ABJ-EOI-2024-001-Logistics services”
Sealed envelopes must be hand-delivered to the WFP registry in Abuja by 5:00 pm, 5th June 2024 with the subject clearly written on the envelope “WFP-SC-ABJ-EOI-2024-001-Logistics services” at
