The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. Each year, on average, WFP provides assistance to more than 90 million people and it is present in 81 countries and in Nigeria alone, currently, WFP is scaling up its operations to reach 1.7 million people every month.

BACKGROUND
As part of its humanitarian assistance activities in Nigeria and the region, the Unites Nations World Food Programme (WFP) hereby seeks all reputable and licensed logistics service providers working in Nigerian ports (mainly Apapa and Tin Can Island in Lagos; Onne and Port Harcourt in rivers) to provide bulk handling services.

SCOPE OF WORKS
1. Customs formalities and port operations services (for charter vessels)
2. Charter vessels discharge (bulk * break bulk cargos) – free out terms discharge
3. Bagging & labeling
4. Inland transportation (bulk and break-bulk commodities)
5. Storage (e.g silos for bulk wheat, bonded warehouses inside the port, commercial warehouses near the port etc)
6. Break bulk offloading; stevedoring/off-loading on the back of the trucks (manual labor, flat-web slings & forklifts/crane)
7. Bulk: direct offloading from ship to silo if feasible (pump or crane)
8. Other operational activities as may become necessary.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
• Please note that this is not a contract or an invitation to tender, rates/prices are not required at this stage, and this invitation does not bind the World food programme to issue any tender or contracts to the companies expressing their interest.
• Shortlisting of companies does not bind WFP to offer a service award at any time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION
1. Legal business registration with relevant authorities (Corporate Affairs Commission)
2. Audited financial statement for the last three (3) years
3. Valid tax clearance certificate (TCC)
4. Three (3) references letters from organizations/entities with whom you have had contracts before.

SUBMISSION OF EOI
Submission must specify the area(s) of interest; and the company’s functional port(s), and must be accompanied by the following documents;
1. Cover letter/company profile including contact details and a brief overview of the area(s) of interest.
2. Proof of registration of the company-valid business license, TAX registration (if applicable) issued by relevant government authority.

The completed questionnaire should be signed, stamped, and returned by e-mail to [email protected] no later than 5:00 pm on 17th May 2023 with the subject “WFP-SC-ABJ-EOI-2023-002 C&F Services

Sealed envelopes must be hand-delivered to the WFP registry in Abuja by 5:00 pm, 17 May- 2023 with the subject clearly written on the envelope “WFP-SC-ABJ-EOI-2023-002 C& F SERVICES” at
