PALLADIUM’S REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS (RFA) NUMBERS:

2. IHP-TO07-2023-RFA007: STRENGTHENING PHCS THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING OF HEALTH CARE WORKERS TO RESPOND TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE (GBV) SURVIVORS IN THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY.
TITLE: STRENGTHENING PHCS THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING OF HEALTH CARE WORKERS TO RESPOND TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE (GBV) SURVIVORS IN BAUCHI, KEBBI AND SOKOTO STATES UNDER THE “USAID INTEGRATED HEALTH PROGRAM”
OVERVIEW
USAID’s Integrated Health Program (HP) invites qualified local entities, Nigerian Non- governmental Organizations (For-Profit and Not-for-Profit), non-governmental professional associations, training institutions and other qualified organizations to submit concept notes and full applications (if shortlisted) with respect to technical, managerial, and other aspects of the program described below.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The goal of the GUC for Ebonyi state and FCT, the USAID Integrated Health Program (IHP) will strengthen the capacity of frontline Healthcare providers and the PHC system to be able to respond appropriately to those exposed to Gender Based Violence (GBV). These efforts will address screening to identify survivors; clinical care appropriate to Primary Health care centers; referrals and linkages with other services like shelter, psychosocial support, legal, economic, etc.; documentation and reporting; and collaboration with state platforms for a coordinated GBV response. The first line services for GBV in every PHC will be mainstreamed into other RMNCH+ N service
OBJECTIVES
Using an offsite clustered training approach (see below) through Fixed Amount Awards (Grants Under Contract funding mechanism), the awardee will:
1. Strengthen the capacity of health care workers to identify and respond appropriately to those exposed to GBV using the World Health Organization’s “LIVES” (Listen, Inquire, Validate, Enhance safety, and Support) approach, which is supported by the Government. The Awardee will train health care workers in clusters as per the given guidelines to provide First Line support for GBV survivors in line with the national GBV curriculum, plus to accurately fill out intake and other required forms, document services in the HMIS register, and to submit GBV data.
2. Build skills of health care workers to provide post GBV clinical services in line with the National Clinical Handbook for those exposed to GBV.
3. Build skills of health care workers in making warm referrals and facilitating linkages to other services required by the GBV survivors using the referral pathway for GBV of each state.
4. Strengthen GBV documentation and reporting for all services including referrals in health facilities by strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers on service delivery data documentation and record-keeping using the GBV documentation protocols.
5. Provide on-site post-training supportive supervision and mentoring to reinforce knowledge and skills.
USAID/IHP, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), will conduct an initial Training of Trainers with GUC recipients and their trainers on the national GBV curriculum, Including the National Clinical Handbook guidelines. The grantee will be responsible for the logistics for this ToT as well as all cluster training and on-site mentoring activities.
Period of Performance of Grant under Contract: Approximately February to September 2023

1. When applying for more than one state, submit full package of all the requirement for each state.
2. Provide evidence of eligibility as per the requirements.

All short-listed organizations will be invited to submit a full application.
