SUPPORT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND PATIENT LITERACY FOR SEXUAL, REPRODUCTIVE, MATERNAL AND NEWBORN HEALTH
SPECIFICATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS:
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to strengthening integrated health systems in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) and expanding access to care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Malaria, tuberculosis, cancer, and other diseases. Since 2011, CHAI has been actively engaged in Nigeria’s vaccine landscape, focusing on accelerating the introduction of new vaccines and strengthening Routine immunization (RI) and Primary Health Care (PHC) Systems. From 2014 to 2016, CHAI, collaboration with federal Ministry of Health to implement a maternal and newborn health program in Kaduna, Kano and Kastina States, leading to significant reductions in maternal mortality, neonatal mortality and stillbirth rates. Building on this success, CHAI expanded its effort to include comprehensive sexual and reproductive health programs, focusing on long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) postpartum family planning (PPFP) and port-abortion care (PAC). With funding from the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), CHAI will implement an integrated sexual, reproduction, material and newborn health (SRMNH) program across four states to empower women, spouses and communities with information on SRMNH services to improve access and generate demand for essential health services.
CHAI seeks to engage a local community based organization that will partner with State Ministry of Health (SMOH), State Primary Health Development Agency/Board (SPHCDA/B), Religious and Traditional Leaders (RTLs), State Influencers and Promoters of services (CHIPS) etc. to increase community level ownership in driving demand for SRMNH services, organize community mobilization activities and to build sustainable platforms that will increase demand for essential SRMNH services within LGAs and wards in Gombe, Ondo, FCT and Enugu States where CHAI’s Integrated SRMNH approach is being implemented.
