CONSULTANCY SERVICE FOR: TRANSLATION OF FARMER FIELD SCHOOL FOR SEED PRODUCTION AND MARKETING TRAINING GUIDE FROM ENGLISH LANGUAGE INTO HAUSA LANGUAGE

OXFAM and ICRISAT are piloting Crop diversity for food security project in west Africa with funding support from CIMMYT. The project is to be piloted in Nigeria and Mali using the farmer field training school approach to facilitate participatory breeding leading to improvement in seed system. The FFS will be facilitated by community lead farmers in both states with backstop support from the ADPs directors of extension service and state seeds certification officers from the National Agricultural seed council.

Bauchi and Jigawa states are predominantly occupied by Hausa natives as a result of which most lead farmers could read and write better in Hausa language, however the training manuals developed for the upcoming ToT for facilitators and master trainers are already in English and French, on this note the training guide needs to be translated into Hausa language as community base facilitators will rely mostly on these training guide to deliver the farmer field training school after the ToT.
